Get to know ProMind Recovery Nursing

We’re a Western Sydney-based mental health nursing and NDIS support provider with over 35 years of experience behind us.

We started this work in hospitals and built our way into the community because we believe recovery happens in real life, not just in clinical settings.

The values that we're built on

At ProMind, how we work matters just as much as what we do. These are the principles that guide every interaction, every plan, and every decision we make.

Meet our founder, Aaron

Aaron Byers has spent 35 years working in mental health, across public and private hospital settings and more than a decade supporting NDIS participants in the community.

He started ProMind Recovery Nursing to offer something the system rarely provides: genuine specialist support, built around the person. Aaron leads the team with the same values he’s carried throughout his career: advocacy, compassion, and a real commitment to helping people move forward.

How ProMind began

ProMind Recovery Nursing grew out of decades working in public hospitals, private clinical settings, and government-funded community mental health programs.

Twelve years ago we brought that experience into the NDIS, and it changed the way we work. We saw how often participants with complex mental health needs were matched with support workers who simply weren’t equipped to help them. So we built something different: a small, specialist team with the clinical depth to actually make a difference.

How we work

We use the recovery model as our foundation, which means we start with your goals, your strengths, and your version of a good life.

We build your support plan around what matters to you, show up consistently, and adapt when things change. Recovery isn’t linear, and we know that better than most. When things get harder, we step in closer. When you’re ready to push further, we’re right there with you.

Support that actually fits your life

No two people we support are the same, and we don’t treat them that way.

From managing complex mental health presentations to navigating the finer details of your NDIS plan, we tailor everything to what you actually need. You’ll work with the same people every time, people who know your history, understand your goals, and genuinely care about where you’re headed.

Make a referral

If you’re supporting someone who’s struggling with their mental health and not getting the specialist help they need, we’re here. We work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants across Western Sydney and we’d love to help get the right support in place.
